The third annual Pride On The Block Transpire Help fundraiser adds LGBTQ+ Youth Pride Party | to this year’s lineup news

Pride On The Block is excited to host a special celebration for and for LGBTQIA+ youth at their third annual block party, held each June at Block 500 of Clematis Street downtown West Palm Beach.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., April 27, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — With the recent political attacks on LGBTQIA+ youth, the event organizers saw the need to provide a space for the young LGBTQIA+ community to be themselves, meet other children like them and express their identities celebrate.

“We’re thrilled to bring our youth together in solidarity, celebrating who they are and showing them the support of our local LGBTQIA+ community in Palm Beach County,” she says Donna WeinbergerOrganizer and co-founder.

LGBTQIA+ books – many of which have been banned from public schools this year – will be a cornerstone of the Youth Pride Party. Pride On The Block has partnered with Rohi’s Readery, a social justice-focused children’s bookstore and learning center in Rosemary Square dedicated to inclusion and diversity in education. First up on June 4th: Drag Story Hour with DQSH Miami.

Rohi’s Readery looks forward to the partnership Proud of the 2022 block to celebrate the joyful and empowering stories of the LGBTQIA+ community. The theme for this year’s youth program is the ‘loving rainbow’ as we come together and create a loving human connection through interactive activities and resources, providing windows and mirrors of learning experiences for our youth. We recognize the power of identity-focused literature and the profound impact it has on social, emotional, and spiritual well-being at any age. Although recently banned book agendas and bills have come to light that seek to erase the history of marginalized communities, we know this has been a long-running battle in the struggle for liberated learning. We look forward to partying, dancing, painting and partying with all ages of our vibrant community!

Other activities include art workshops with the Norton Museum, cooking classes with Project Flourish, family yoga with Hamsa Power Yoga, a teen dance party with teen DJs, crafts, games, prizes, vendors and more.

There is also plenty to do for adults. With activities like Queer Open Mic, LGBTQIA+ Speed Dating, a 500 Block Restaurant Pub Crawl — and of course, plenty of drag performances — Pride on the Block is guaranteed fun for all ages 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. An afterparty on Respectable Street keeps the party going 4 am.

Pride On The Block is the annual fundraiser for Perspire helpa local non-profit organization that provides financial support and resources to LGBTQIA+ individuals seeking behavioral health and addiction treatment.
