The Pad Party partners with a local boutique for the National Period Action Day trade-in event

SIOUX FALLS, SD (Dakota News Now) – In response to the national supply chain, inflation and higher local demand, The Pad Party is partnering with Terra Shepherd Boutique & Apothecary to increase donations of menstrual products to The Banquet.

The promotion starts on Saturday October 8th and lasts until Monday October 31st. This effort joins thousands of Americans for National period of action Projects in communities across the country, according to a press release from Startup Sioux Falls.

“We are currently witnessing a cultural shift in product consumption, and we want to raise awareness of eco-friendly, reusable options for those who have the means, so that traditional products remain available to those who do not have direct access to clean water,” said he drive organizer Brienne Maner.

In the thirteen years that the group has worked on this project, over 250,000 pads, tampons and incontinence products have been donated to The Banquet for distribution to those who need them, and that need continues to grow amid challenges at the national economic level on.

“We are asking the public to donate maxi pads, pads and tampons to support menstruating people throughout their life cycle,” said Katrina Lehr-McKinney, organizer of the campaign. From Saturday, October 8th through Monday, October 31st, bring a box of partially or unopened period products and receive a menstrual cup or 20% off a Terra Shepherd reusable period product. Visit during regular shop opening hours.

Accepted donated products include:

• Tampons (Super Plus, Super or Regular)

• Panty liners

• Pads for the night

The Pad Party plans to host their annual drive event on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 13th. “We’ll be announcing more about our 2023 ride in December,” says LehrMcKinney.
