The city of Greenville is preparing for the illuminated New Years Eve celebration

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – New Years Eve is just around the corner, and the City of Greenville and its team are preparing for a spectacular event full of hope for the future.

The countdown is on with a variety of fun for the whole family to ring in the new year with lots of joy for young and old. A New Years Eve celebration was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, but this year locals are getting a flashback of the 2019 event with some of the same previous enjoyments, with the exception of alcohol sales.

There’s live entertainment from The After Party Experience, food trucks, a photo booth, and the Emerald Drop Countdown.

Greenville has high hopes for its citizens as they enter the new year, said Brock Letchworth, communications manager and public information officer for Greenville.

“We hope that our residents will have a happy and safe New Year. We have many great things planned for the coming year that will help us benefit from our positive growth trajectory over the past few years and we hope everyone will enjoy them, ”said Letchworth.

This year’s sponsors include The City of Greenville, GUC, among many others.
