LEWISTON – The 5th Annual Pain to Power: Motorcycle Ride for Suicide Awareness event is scheduled for Sunday, August 29th.
Attendees should meet at L / A Harley Davidson at 839 Main St. at 9:00 AM. The ride begins at 11:30 am from L / A Harley Davidson and is scheduled to return at 12:30 pm at the trailhead for a benefit fundraiser with live music and raffles.
The event will feature a motorcade of at least 200 motorcycles and motorcycle enthusiasts joining together to ride as a pack to raise awareness about suicide and its aftermath. Event organizers will provide post-ride commentary to attendees, followed by coffee biscuits and a chance to share stories of lost friends and family.
Event organizer Nick Danforth started the drive to help others suffering from the aftermath of suicide. Danforth lost his father David to suicide in 2015 and soon after began the drive to bring up the suicide issue and turn his pain into power.
All proceeds will go to the Maine Veterans Project.
