A podcast organizer wants your forgiveness. Podcast Movement says it made a serious mistake and apologizes profusely.
The organizer is sorry, ashamed and embarrassed. What happened? Did too many whites come? Didn’t they play enough songs by female artists? No, it’s even worse. Ben Shapiro appeared briefly near a booth at a convention hosted by PM on Thursday.
What did he say? What has he done? Nothing and nothing. But its mere presence caused “damage,” says PM’s Twitter handle.
We had to embed the full tweet or someone wouldn’t believe our account of the event:
Hi folks, we owe you an apology before the sessions for the day begin. Yesterday afternoon, Ben Shapiro made a brief visit to the PM22 exhibit area near the The Daily Wire booth. Although he was not registered or expected, we take full responsibility for the damage caused by his presence.

“There’s no getting around it: we agreed to sell The Daily Wire a first-time booth based on the company’s large footprint in podcasting. The weight of that decision is now painfully clear. Shapiro is co-founder. A drop-in, however unlikely, should have been considered,” explains the organizer.
“Those of you who called it ‘unacceptable’ are right. In 9 wonderful years of growing and celebrating this medium, PM has made mistakes. The pain this causes will always be with us. We promise that sponsors will be considered more carefully in the future.”
How dare the guards let someone with traditionally conservative views into the building?
The spark came after random Twitter users said Shapiro made them uncomfortable as women, people of color and transgender people.
Most of the angry tweeters failed to provide conclusive evidence that Shapiro had made offensive remarks about their communities. However, we concluded that this could all be a ploy to discriminate against Shapiro for not being the most skilled rapper:

Or maybe him is a danger to society. Perhaps giving him a presence too risky for the blind eye alongside his top 3 rated podcast and industry-leading Facebook page is a risk.
The revelation disturbed me on a personal level. Last summer, on this very site, I interviewed Ben Shapiro about social media, the state of the country, the college system, the politicization of US institutions, his business, the White House, and values.
I would tell you to read it, but I don’t want to harm anyone. However, if you are in a stable position where he cannot reach you, here is the link:

Podcast Movement now has to pay for Shapiro to be allowed to show his face. An apology and a lifetime ban are not enough.
So I put together a list of podcasters I can invite to the next event for free to show supporters that Podcast Movement is doing it Not allow political radicals at its congress:
— Jemele Hill
– Keith Olberman
– Al Sharpton
Yes, all four have podcasts. No, when you add them all up, they don’t make up half of Shapiro’s audience.
We hope the damage done by Ben Shapiro today wasn’t irreparable.
