Phillies-Padres NLCS: where to buy tickets legally

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Were you one of the lucky ones to snag tickets to the Phillies-Padres NLCS at Monday morning’s box office?

If not, don’t worry. You can still head to Citizens Bank Park for Games 3, 4 and 5 if you wish, but it could cost a pretty penny.

The cheapest tickets we’ve found on third-party ticketing sites like StubHub, Ticketmaster, and VividSeats start at around $300. These seats are standing room only.

But one thing fans need to beware of when buying through a third party is getting scammed.

CBS Philadelphia reached out to the companies to find out what steps they are taking to protect shoppers from fraud.

StubHub is an official resale partner of the MLB. They offer an exclusive “FanProtect” to protect both buyers and sellers.

Here is an explanation from their website.

StubHub’s exclusive FanProtect Guarantee guarantees valid tickets or your money back. It is this guarantee that makes us the most trusted fan ticket marketplace where you can buy and sell with 100% confidence.

Our FanProtect Guarantee offers buyers four key benefits:

You will receive your tickets in time for the event.

Your order guarantees a valid ticket for entry into the event.

If there’s a problem with your order, we’ll make it up with comparable or better tickets or your money back.

If your event is canceled and not rescheduled, you’ll receive a 120% credit or an option for a full refund.

Vividseats also swears by authenticity for buyers, or your money back.

Our mission has always been to eliminate any fear of buying tickets online. Vivid Seats has some of the strongest relationships with licensed, certified and professional ticket resellers in the industry. All sellers, their business practices and track records are rigorously evaluated and we guarantee your tickets are valid and authentic or your money back.

Ticketmaster.com says they do not recommend buying tickets from unauthorized sources. Through your verified ticket resale, you are purchasing a ticket from either “(a) a non-promoter reseller such as B. other fans, season ticket holders or professional resellers, or (b) in certain circumstances by Promoter. Tickets obtained from unauthorized sources other than directly through our website can be lost, stolen or counterfeited and will in this case be void.”

The best advice is to research the company you’re looking to buy tickets from and make sure you, the buyer, are protected in some way.
