Noah Gregor is number 73 with the San Jose Sharks, but he’s number one at Beaumont.
The mayor of Beaumont declared July 23 as Noah Gregor Day, and hockey fans lined up at a Beaumont Safeway parking lot on Saturday to meet the NHL native forward as he signed autographs and snapped photos with fans.
“I didn’t expect so many people to come out,” Gregor said. “I am very happy with the participation, it was a lot of fun. It’s cool to see the community come out and show some love.”
Event organizer Dennis Carr said Gregor is an inspiration to local children and shows that a love of play – and lots of practice – can pay off big.
“I don’t think there is a more humble family than the Gregors. They’re just very humble, down to earth people, and it shows in Noah’s hard work,” Carr said. “That tells the other kids, ‘Hey, you can play hockey, enjoy hockey, and who knows where you’re going.'”
“Noah is a prime example. He’s just a kid who worked hard and there he is.”
Drafted by the Sharks in 2016, Gregor had 23 points in 63 games during the 2022 season. He shared a similar message with fans and their families.
“It doesn’t matter where you come from, where you play. As long as you work hard and are committed and love the game, you can achieve a lot,” said Gregor.
