After COVID-19 canceled last year’s annual tradition, the Okra Strut Festival is back in action this weekend in Irmo. Rides, food, vendors, and live music will take over the community park. Saturday begins with a parade through the city. The Mayor of Irmo says it is a great time for all visitors and the 13,000 residents who call the city home. Mayor Walker also urges people to get vaccinated before attending the festival, and advises bringing masks and social distancing on the strut.
Home Depot is expanding its supply chain activities across the state, according to the governor’s office. Officials say the combined expansion will create nearly 100 jobs, including 23 in Lexington County.
The Home Depot says it will expand its supply chain and distribution in Lexington, Charleston, Greenville and Jasper counties. Officials say this will help the company meet growing demands and enable faster delivery in the region.
Officials say an additional facility will be added on Bistline Drive in Cayce.

Richland School District Two is hosting a bus driver careers fair this weekend. They offer a starting salary of $ 16.36 per hour, plus sign-up and performance bonuses, health and dental benefits, and retirement plans.
