Lissy Lakshmi and other friends throw a party for Kerala State Film Award-winning Best Actress Revathy | Malayalam Movie News

Veteran actress Revathy, who has won three National Film Awards in different categories, won her first Kerala State Film Award this year at the 52nd edition of the awards. Revathy received the Best Actress award for her performance in the recently released horror thriller Bhoothakaalam. She won the award for her role as Asha, a single mother who must face unprecedented incidents with her son. Revathy’s industry friends, including Lissy Lakshmi, Khushbu Sundar, Suhasini and Ambika, threw a party for her.

Taking to her social media address to share insights into the celebration, Lissy Lakshmi wrote: ‘Celebrating Revathy winning the Best Actress award for Bhoothakalam!! It’s an amazing performance from my dear friend!! Revathy is one of the greatest actors in Indian films. Paraphrasing the words of Prabhu Sir “athu oru abhinaya pisasu”. State prize and many other higher awards were long overdue for an actress who has captivated us with many versatile performances over the years! To win a state award at this point in her career after having to compete with younger actors is a really great achievement! We are very proud of them!!”

The horror thriller “Bhoothakaalam” was directed by Rahul Sadasivan. Meanwhile, the 52nd Kerala State Film Awards were announced in the last week of May. This year’s Best Actor award was shared by two actors – Biju Menon and Joju George.

Meanwhile, Revathy Asha has recently been busy working on her next directorial film, Last Hurrah, starring Kajol. Announcing the project earlier this year, Revathy said, “I’m thrilled to announce my next film as a director – Last Hooray, starring my favorite charming actor, ‘Kajol.’ I look forward to shaping a character that I have carried within me for more than 7 years. God bless 🙏🏾.”
