For her 45th birthday, Lakshmi Manchu dropped the big birthday party in favor of spiritual celebrations. She took a few days off for a pilgrimage and she says the experience will stay with her forever.
She went to Shrimal Kshetra where one does penance. She went to Bhinmal near Udaipur.
Speaking of her birthday celebrations, the actress says, “I think the birthday month is very important every year.” “Birthday is a time to see how far you’ve come, what you want to do. It’s a time to reflect more than the New Year, it’s my birthday.” She adds.
She did that this year. “Every year everyone should celebrate their birthday big. Because you made it around the sun one more time. After the Corona period, it is all the more important to do this. There are so many things I want to do in life.”
“On my birthday, I give myself permission to grant myself one of those wishes. This year I had the opportunity to travel to Bhinmal which is near the border between Rajasthan, Pakistan and Gujarat. It’s like a lost city, but it has meaning for about 1000 years,” she shares, adding, “Doing the same thing every year and having a party is fine. But this time I took about 20 of my friends and family to visit this temple. It is important to have the stillness and connect with the amazing energies. India has an understanding, and gaining that deeper knowledge of our soul and our being in our human birth was important to me.”
“I think spirituality has really given me a clearer picture of who I am inside. No matter what happens outside, that happiness is within you, and that happiness is a choice. You can look for it elsewhere and as I’ve discovered that every role I take on and everything I do doesn’t affect me as much as my inner journey is more important now,” she tells us.
The actor adds, “Whatever comes my way is a blessing, and either way, it’s happening at the perfect time with the perfect frequency.”
