A Hall of Fame Party on the first Friday with live music begins on August 6th at 5pm at Jerzee’s Cafe on Centennial Plaza in downtown Canton.

Performers are Saxy Rob, Swagg and Trailer Park Ninjas.

Jerzee’s Cafe is located on Court Ave 330. NW. Centennial Plaza is located on Market Avenue N between Third and Fourth Streets NW.

The Cleveland Browns-themed film “Draft Day” will be shown at the Canton Palace Theater at 7:30 pm

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets to the PG-13 movie starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner are $ 2. The film was released in 2014.

Also on the first Friday, the BZTAT Studios will be located in the Vital Arts Gallery at 324 Cleveland Ave. NW show the mural “Blue Cat Group” by BZTAT, with the possibility to take a selfie.

In addition, new paintings from the series “Urban Wildlife” by BZTAT will be shown.

Vital Arts is also showing “Perspective” by artist Ashley Palmer, an exhibition that explores the multidimensional nature of the human experience.

Open from 6pm to 10pm, Vital Arts also features new “Selfie Spot Art Installations” created by Makaila Davenport, David Sherrill, Joanne Schempp, BZ Tat, Stephen Tornero and the artists of the Just Imagine Gift Gallery.

Boomdyada, 332 4th St. NW, will be offering Make-n-Take-Aquatic Eco-System necklaces for sale.

For the first time in 18 months, The Auricle, 201 Cleveland Ave. NW, its “First Friday Dance Night” is back on.

The bar opens at 6 p.m. with dancing at 11 p.m.

‘In the forest’

“Into the Woods” will be presented on Friday and Saturday at 8pm in the North Canton Playhouse.

A Sunday performance is at 2:30 pm in the theater at 525 Seventh St. NE.

Tickets (18 years and older) cost USD 20 and (up to 17 years) are USD 15.

Other performances will take place on August 13 and 14 at 8 p.m. and on August 8 and 15 at 2:30 p.m.

The production is directed by Delorna Toy and performed on the renovated main stage of the theater.

The story is about a baker and his wife who want a child; Cinderella, who wants to take part in the royal festival; and Jack, wanting his cow to give milk, said the North Canton Playhouse in a press release.

When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off to break the curse.

Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions later torment them with disastrous consequences.

Meet the ‘Flash Gordon’ actor

Happy Pappy’s action figure Extravaganza will host the actor who played Flash Gordon on Friday for a meetup with fans.

Sam J. Jones, who played the comic book hero in “Flash Gordon” in 1980, will be in store from 5pm to 9pm at 135 6th St. NW in downtown Canton in connection with First Friday events.

Jones will be taking photos with fans and signing autographs.

The open-air Sidestreet MKTS takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Oakwood Square in Plain Township.

Oakwood Square is located at 2610 Easton St. NE.

Open-air shopping and food trucks are offered as well as live music. Drinks, coffee, beer and baked goods are available for purchase.

The Wilderness Center organizes a

Star clock

The Wilderness Center is hosting a “Star Watch” event on Friday from 9:30 am to 11:30 pm.

The Wilderness Center is located at 9877 Alabama Ave. SW in the southwest corner of Stark County in Sugarcreek Township.

Astronomy Club telescopes are used to observe the night sky and at the same time point out constellations. “Star stories” are also told.

The event will be canceled if it is cloudy.
