Kofi Amoabeng dashed hopes of returning to banking
The founder of the defunct United Trust Bank (UT Bank), Prince Kofi Amoabeng, celebrated his 70th birthday with some friends and family at an elegant all-white party.
The UT boss turned 70 on February 22, 2022 and marked the day with dazzling photos and videos shared by bloggers and people who attended his birthday celebration.
Pictures of the business mogul, adorned in an all-white kaftan, were shared on Instagram by photographer Manuel Photography.
It was all love and joy at the business mogul’s plush, all-white party, who danced up and down to the gospel song “Oye,” which means “it’s good.”
The song’s lyrics could well narrate the military businessman’s struggles after he lost a fortune when the government collapsed his bank during the banking sector purge.
Captain Prince Kofi Amoabeng (Rtd), after getting back on his feet, has dashed all hopes that he could return to banking by founding a new financial institution.
He explained that when there are such expectations from people for him to prove to them that he is reasonably fit, they will be disappointed.
“I’m not trying to re-establish myself in banking. I’m not young and I’m thankful for what God used me to do. I touched so many lives.
“I changed the world around me and that’s what we’re meant to do,” he said, reports myjoyonline.com.
UT Bank, co-founded by the military officer-turned-businessman, shut down in 2017.
