CrossFit806, 25:35 Water Team Joins Up For Third Clean Water Event To Help End Uganda’s Water Crisis | KAMR

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR / KCIT) – Several people came out to work up a sweat while helping build water wells.

CrossFit 806 has partnered with 25:35 Water to host the 3rd Clean Water Event, benefiting the 2535’s mission to build clean water wells in Uganda, Africa. According to the website 25:35 Water, nearly 9 million people in Uganda do not have access to clean water.

The organizer said this was the third year of the event, which raised $ 40,000 last year. The organization raised $ 27,000 ahead of the event, and executives tell us they are excited to extend their helping hand.

“It’s great, it gives us purpose every day,” said Eric Matthews, 25:35 Water Co-Founder. “It gives us something to look forward to, something that is bigger than ourselves, that we can partake of.”

The Matthews said that partnering with CrossFit 806 helped the mission grow and ultimately have a positive impact on water availability in Uganda.

“At our first event in 2019, we drilled six water wells,” recalls Kimberly Matthews, co-founder of 25:35 Water. “In these three years we are now at 53.”

25:35 water According to the guide, each well costs around $ 10,000 for land surveying, drilling, and installation. So far this year, 25:35 Water has drilled 12 wells in the East African country.
