Melbourne’s hippest venue, the BRUNSWICK BALLROOM, has hosted an incredible appeal from legendary musicians as well as a program of hilarious shows as part of this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival. As already shown at the Brunswick Ballroom Opening Gala in early March, we are also committed to putting cabaret at the center of our stage.
The multiple award-winning author and performer Ash Flanders is no stranger to the BRUNSWICK BALLROOM, who thrilled the audience at the opening gala.
July 1st & 8th Ash Flanders is nothing will take us on a deeply fun, free-running journey through time like no other, mixing storytelling with song and comedy with tragedy. Because when life punishes so happily, the material simply writes itself.
Ash Flanders says of his upcoming appearances:
After I burned down the stage at the opening gala, the BRUNSWICK BALLROOM formally asked me to come back with a new show, but when the negotiations got uncomfortable they insisted on choosing the title. So I think I’ll look around you ‘Ash Flanders is nothing!
Melbourne’s most dynamic and exciting venue, the BRUNSWICK BALLROOM, offers guests the opportunity to experience music, cabaret and comedy alongside wonderful food and wine. The on-site cabaret line-up is curated by theater producer Liza McLean of Tinderbox Productions.
McLean says of the cabaret in the Ballroom program:
BRUNSWICK BALLROOM is a brilliant new venue in the heart of arguably one of Melbourne’s most thriving artist communities.
BRUNSWICK BALLROOM is an accessible venue for up to 300 people that combines the best of London’s iconic Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and New York institution Joe’s Pub with Melbourne’s own 1990s icon, The Continental Café, bringing Melbourne style back to the music scene.
