FLORENCESC – What to do? What to do?
Good question, especially with the weekend just days away.
There is so much to do and so little time at Pee Dee this weekend. To see the bigger picture, visit the Florence Convention and Visitor’s Bureau website – www.visitflo.com – and click on the events calendar.
But here’s the short list – the Morning News presents the 3 things to do this weekend.
1 DOWN, DOWN! – The Tru Sol Band will headline Florence After 5, taking place on Friday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at Block 100 of South Dargan Street in downtown Florence. The Florence Downtown Development Corp. presents the free concert and block party on the last Friday of the month from May to September. The concert is free. The Tru Sol Band will take the stage at 6:00 p.m. Food and drinks are available on the street. All food and drinks are purchased with tickets, which can be purchased from the ticket office near the Florence County Museum. Convenient parking is available in the City of Florence’s free car park, accessible from 150 S. Irby St.

The Tru Sol Band was formed in November 2004. They quickly became a high profile live band, performing at weddings, festivals and parties all along the east coast. The Myrtle Beach-based band plays classics from the Motown era to current hip-hop and rhythm and blues eras. So head to downtown Florence for a Tru Sol party on Friday night.
2 TOOOOOOOOOOOR: The Francis Marion University men’s and women’s soccer teams perform on the pitch this weekend. The women’s team plays hosts to Coker University on Thursday at 7pm. The Patriots hold a 6-0 record against Coker University from 1995 to 2019. The Patriots beat Coker University 3-0 in their last game – on September 14, 2019.
